Why do sausages get sticky?

Reading time - 3 minutes.
sticky sausages
After several days in the refrigerator, sausages are often covered with a slippery mucous membrane, unpleasant to the touch and smell. This indicates that the sausages are not fresh and the expiration date must be checked. Most likely, it is over. However, so many preservatives are added to modern products that even stale sausages - plus two to three days - can be boil and eat without threat to health. They must be removed from the shell, film, if any, rinsed well in warm water and subjected to heat treatment - boil, fry - only then eat. For those with sensitive stomachs, it is better not to take risks and dine on something else, and give the sticky sausages to the dogs or throw them away.
