shrimp name
There is no consensus on the origin of this name. There are several versions of the appearance of this word. The first three are based on the purely Russian meaning of the word. The first is that the word appeared from the Old Russian language among those peoples who were engaged in fishing. It was written then as "shrimp" because the animal had a curved shape. The second version - there was a combination of the words "crooked et ki" which literally means "it is crooked". And the third version - there is an assumption that in the word "kryvetka" the meaning of the words "crooked branch" is hidden, which also reminds of the shape of an animal. And the next version is based on the French word "crevette", which has many French, Latin, and ancient European roots.
