Why is there a bloom on the dried fruit compote?

Reading time - 5 minutes.
compote
Any dried fruits (dried apricots, prunes, raisins), when hung on branches in the form of fresh berries and fruits, are reliably protected from external influences by natural wax. This wax does not disappear anywhere during drying, but it makes itself felt when boiling compote from them. It manifests itself as follows: after the end of cooking compote and infusion, a barely distinguishable film appears on the surface, a whitish coating. This is the released natural wax. It is not dangerous, almost indistinguishable, and has no taste, but if you spot it, just take it off and throw it away. Compote can be drunk with or without such a film, it is not harmful to the body.
