Shrimp is seafood, and any seafood is a good source of iodine. It is logical to assume that if your body certainly requires boil shrimp, yes more - then a possible reason for this taste whim is iodine deficiency (hypothyroidism).

Iodine is vital for the normal functioning of the thyroid gland. Shrimp contains a fairly high amount: in 100 g of the product - about 30 mcg of iodine. The sea water in which shrimp live contains a record amount of iodine. Part of it is absorbed by marine life (including shrimps), accumulates in their bodies and is already transmitted to humans with food.

Unfortunately, the problem of iodine deficiency in the body cannot be solved only by eating a large amount of shrimp. Consultation with an endocrinologist and taking iodine in the form of medications is required.
